The story we grew up with
In the Mahabharata, Dronacharya arranges the Kaurava army in the Chakravyuh, a spiral formation of rings within rings. Each ring is guarded, and each one closes behind the warrior who breaks through it.
Young Abhimanyu, son of Arjuna, had learned how to break into the Chakravyuh. He had never learned how to come out. He went in bravely, fought through ring after ring, and was trapped at the centre.
Every exam is a vyuh
SSC, banking and railway exams are formations of their own. Sections, time limits, negative marking, normalisation and cutoffs: ring within ring. Lakhs of aspirants learn how to get in. They study, they buy test series, they take mock after mock. But a score alone does not show the way out. Was the miss a concept gap or a rushed slip? Which section took the minutes that the last ten questions needed? Which topic, fixed this week, adds the most marks?
