SSC GD Constable recruits General Duty constables for the CAPFs (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB), Assam Rifles, NIA and SSF. It draws lakhs of 10th-pass candidates every year.

Expected dates for 2027
SSC's tentative calendar for 2026–27 placed the notification in September 2026 and the computer-based exam in January to March 2027. The notification had not been released when we last checked. We track it on our exam calendar.
How to prepare
- Reasoning and Maths are your scoring sections. They are class 10 level. With practice, 34+ out of 40 in each is realistic.
- GK decides ranks. Read static GK (history, geography, polity, science) every day, plus defence basics.
- English or Hindi: choose the one you are stronger in. Grammar rules, vocabulary and one passage a day are enough.
- Use the low negative marking wisely. At −0.25, an educated guess between two options is worth taking.
