Questions students ask
What is the JEE Main Paper 1 pattern?
75 questions in 3 hours: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, each with 20 MCQs (Section A) and 5 numerical value questions (Section B), for 300 marks. Since 2025 all Section B questions are compulsory.
Is there negative marking for numerical questions in JEE Main?
In recent NTA papers, a wrong answer loses 1 mark in both sections. Always check the information bulletin for your session.
When is JEE Main 2027?
NTA's calendar places Session 1 in late January 2027 and Session 2 in April 2027. Exact dates come with the official information bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
