Ex-servicemen, widows and some government employees get further relaxation; the rules differ by exam, so check the notification. RRB NTPC category relaxations are not shown because we could not confirm them from an official copy yet.

Questions students ask

How is age calculated for government exams?

Each notification fixes a date, such as 1 August 2026 for SSC CGL and CHSL, and prints the dates of birth that qualify. Your age on that date decides eligibility, not your age on the exam or application day.

How much age relaxation do OBC, SC and ST candidates get?

In these exams the upper age limit goes up by 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) and 5 years for SC and ST. EWS candidates get no age relaxation. The lower age limit never changes.

How much relaxation do candidates with disabilities get?

Usually 10 years for General and EWS, 13 for OBC and 15 for SC and ST. SSC GD Constable is not open to candidates with disabilities.

Can final-year students apply?

For SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SBI PO and SBI Clerk, yes, if the result is out by the date in the notification. IBPS PO and IBPS RRB need the qualification on the day you register.
