Quick answer
SSC GD cutoffs are set separately for each state, category, gender and area. In SSC's 2026 PET/PST result, the male UR cutoff for the general area was 126.14 out of 160 in Uttar Pradesh, 126.84 in Rajasthan, 120.61 in Bihar, 99.40 in Maharashtra and 94.20 in West Bengal. These are normalised marks, including NCC bonus marks.
SSC GD has no single national cutoff. Constable (GD) vacancies are earmarked State/UT-wise, so SSC sets a separate cutoff for each state, each category, men and women, and each type of district within a state. This page uses only SSC's own result notices, and lists the figures for a selection of states.
How SSC GD cutoffs work
These rules are from the notice of the 2026 examination and SSC's result notices:
- Exam: 80 questions of 2 marks each, so 160 marks, with 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- Minimum qualifying marks: to be considered for PET/PST at all, you need 30% if you are UR, 25% if you are OBC or EWS, and 20% in all other categories (SC, ST and ESM). NCC bonus marks are not added for this check.
- Normalisation: the exam runs over many shifts, so SSC normalises raw scores. Cutoffs are applied to normalised scores plus NCC bonus marks.
- NCC bonus: 8 marks for a 'C' certificate, 4.8 for 'B' and 3.2 for 'A'. Ex-Servicemen do not get NCC bonus marks.
- Separate lists: men and women are shortlisted separately, state-wise, area-wise and category-wise.
- Areas: within a state, vacancies are split into the general district area (G), border district area (B) and Naxal/militancy affected district area (N). A candidate from a border or Naxal/militancy district is first considered against those vacancies and then against general area vacancies.
- Shortlisting: about 8 times the number of vacancies are called for PET/PST, and about 2 times for the medical exam and document verification. Both lists are drawn on CBE merit.
- PET/PST is pass or fail: it adds no marks. Final selection and force allocation use your normalised CBE score plus NCC bonus marks, and your force preferences.
So there are two cutoffs that matter: the score that gets you called to PET/PST, and the usually higher score of the last candidate finally selected in your state, category and force.
SSC GD 2026 cutoff for PET/PST: male, state-wise
The 2026 CBE was held from 27 April to 30 May 2026, and 21,56,776 candidates appeared. These are the cutoffs for male candidates against the general district area vacancies of each state. A dash means the notice has no row for that category in that state's general area.

In all, 1,81,251 men were shortlisted against State/UT-wise vacancies (other than SSF), and 15,782 women.
SSC GD 2026 cutoff for PET/PST: female, state-wise
Same notice, female candidates, general district area. Women compete only with women for the vacancies earmarked for them.
| State/UT | UR | OBC | EWS | SC | ST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Uttar Pradesh | 125.99 | 125.96 | 124.37 | 119.30 | 116.73 |
| Rajasthan | 127.61 | 127.66 | 121.56 | 116.18 | 118.92 |

| Madhya Pradesh | 124.70 | 125.84 | 119.55 | 116.79 | 104.87 |
| Bihar | 116.03 | 115.98 | 114.81 | 92.92 | 111.33 |
| Delhi | 120.90 | 121.50 | 115.67 | 124.14 | 105.49 |
| Maharashtra | 98.73 | 97.82 | 91.36 | 97.60 | 88.86 |
| West Bengal | 103.53 | 98.42 | 83.79 | 94.92 | 93.09 |
Female cutoffs are not automatically lower. In Haryana, Delhi and West Bengal several female cutoffs in the 2026 list were above the male ones. Each list depends on its own vacancies and its own candidates.
What the 2026 numbers show
States differ by more than 30 marks. The male UR cutoff was 126.84 in Rajasthan and 94.20 in West Bengal, for the same exam. Your target depends on the domicile state you give in your application, and the 2026 notice says no request to change it will be accepted after you submit the form.
A reserved category can be above UR. In Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh the male OBC cutoff was higher than UR. One reason this can happen is that reserved-category candidates who score at the UR level are counted against UR vacancies. The 2026 result notice says that 36,548 OBC, 9,474 EWS, 8,434 SC and 6,100 ST men were shortlisted at the UR standard.
Some cutoffs are just the minimum. Where a state had fewer candidates than needed, SSC used the minimum qualifying marks as the cutoff. On 160 marks that is 48 for UR, 40 for OBC and EWS, and 32 for others. You will see these round figures in parts of the North-East, in several border and Naxal-area rows, and for most ESM rows.
SSF is All-India. Secretariat Security Force vacancies are not state-wise. The 2026 male UR cutoff for SSF was 146.18, the highest UR figure in the notice.
SSC GD 2025 final cutoff: one state by force
The final cutoff is the score of the last candidate selected. It is set separately for each force, because allocation is by merit and your force preferences. Here are the 2025 final cutoffs for male candidates from Uttar Pradesh, general district area, from SSC's final result notice. SSC considered 53,690 vacancies for allocation in 2025.
| Force | UR | OBC | EWS | SC | ST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BSF | 132.11 | 131.58 | 128.67 | 122.57 | 113.23 |
| CISF | 139.02 | 137.44 | 134.71 | 128.66 | 120.15 |
| CRPF | 133.38 | 132.49 | 129.69 | 123.87 | 113.18 |
| SSB | 142.61 | 141.58 | 138.24 | 133.67 | 135.09 |
| ITBP | 134.72 | 134.31 | 132.68 | 124.48 | 121.17 |
| Assam Rifles | 134.69 | 134.80 | 132.70 | 125.94 | 117.87 |
Two things stand out. First, a final cutoff is usually higher than the PET/PST shortlisting cutoff for the same exam, because about 8 candidates per vacancy are called for the physical test but only about one per vacancy is selected. These are 2025 figures, so do not compare them directly with the 2026 tables above. Second, the force matters: for UR men in Uttar Pradesh the gap between BSF and SSB was about 10.5 marks. The 2025 notice also shows 3,94,121 candidates were called for PET/PST and 95,575 for the medical exam and document verification.
How to use these numbers
- Find your own row. Open the annexures in the official notices and look for your state, category, gender and area. Our tables show only a sample.
- Aim for the final cutoff, not the PET/PST one. Clearing the shortlisting cutoff gets you to the physical test. Selection depends on where you rank after it.
- Do not treat one year as fixed. Cutoffs move with vacancies, the number of candidates and the difficulty of each shift.
- Remember the physical test. It adds no marks, but failing it ends your attempt. Read our SSC GD PET/PST standards guide.

Frequently asked questions
What was the SSC GD 2026 cutoff for UR male candidates in Uttar Pradesh?
126.14 out of 160 for the general district area, in SSC's PET/PST shortlisting notice of 12 October 2026. This includes NCC bonus marks.
Is the SSC GD cutoff the same for every state?
No. Vacancies are earmarked State/UT-wise, so each state has its own cutoff for each category, for men and women, and for general, border and Naxal/militancy district areas. SSF vacancies are filled on an All-India basis.
What are the minimum qualifying marks in SSC GD?
30% for UR, 25% for OBC and EWS, and 20% for all other categories, without NCC bonus marks. On 160 marks that is 48, 40 and 32. Meeting this does not by itself get you called for PET/PST.
Does PET/PST affect the SSC GD final cutoff?
No. PET and PST are qualifying only. The final merit list and force allocation use your normalised CBE score plus NCC bonus marks, along with your force preferences.
Why is the OBC cutoff sometimes higher than UR in SSC GD?
Reserved-category candidates who score at the UR standard are counted against UR vacancies. In 2026, 36,548 OBC men were shortlisted at the UR standard, which can push the remaining OBC cutoff above UR in some states.
